Karen Carr specializes in artwork of prehistoric
animals
as well as other natural history subjects. Her paintings have been featured in popular magazines like Earth, and Natural History. Recently her art was used on the December 2000 cover of Scientific American. Karen's paintings also appear in several natural history museums in the form of large murals, a particularly challenging task which Karen tackles with skill.

Check out our gallery sampling some of Karen's paintings, and read our interview with the artist. Also don't miss Karen's illustrated description of how she created a huge mural for the Oklahoma Museum of Natural History.

With this article, PrehistoricPlanet.com kick's off our Prehistoric Art section. Look for more articles soon introducing other artists of prehistoric animals.
